After the mountain bike flagship XTR has already set benchmarks and Deore XT and SLX have followed suit, the Deore M6100 now rounds off Shimano’s 12-speed lineup. It is complemented by the components of the M5100 and M4100 series which will equip 11- and 10-speed drivetrains at the same high level.

Regarding the price, the current Shimano Deore groups are positioned in the entry-level range, but are not prepared to compromise in terms of performance, quality and reliability. Almost everything that the high end groups XTR, XT and SLX have to offer in terms of technology, innovation, performance and range of functions, you will find in the Deore components, too.

Shimano Deore SL-M5100-I Rapidfire Plus shifting lever

The Shimano Deore SL-M5100 shift lever is characterized by its simple and smooth-running operation so that the driver can concentrate solely on the trail ahead. The I-Spec EV construction already familiar from XTR, Deore XT and SLX has also found its way into the Deore components. With this technology the shifting levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever, what makes it possible to dispense with a clamp and to significantly increase the adjustment range. Proven features such as Rapidfire Plus and 2-Way-Release have of course been adopted by the SL-M5100 shifting levers.

Shimano Deore FC-M5100-1 crankset

The Shimano Deore FC-M5100-1 crank is designed for 1×11- as well as for 1×10-speed drivetrains and features a 2-piece construction keeping the weight low. A 4-arm chainring with 96 mm B.C.D. ensures an efficient transmission of pedal force. The Deore crankset with a chain line of 52 mm and a Q-factor of 178.5 mm is suitable for dropouts which feature an O.L.D. of 135, 142 or 148 mm.

Shimano Deore RD-M5100-SGS Shadow RD+ rear derailleur

Thanks to its Shadow RD+ design, the Shimano Deore RD-M5100-SGS rear derailleur delivers consistent MTB shifting performance over rough terrain. The low profile design avoids damage from rocks whiles Shimano’s chain stabilizing technology reduces chain drop, achieving a quiet drivetrain in all gear positions at the same time.

The Top Normal rear derailleur for the Deore 1×11-speed drivetrain is designed to work perfectly with the large 11-51 teeth Shimano CS-M5100 cassette covering a wide gear range. The guide and tension pulley of the long SGS cage feature 13 teeth each.

The Shimano Deore CS-M5100 cassette guarantees smooth and precise shifting performance. It is perfect for MTB drivetrains with single or double chainrings and offers Rider Tuned gear steps for maximum cadence control across the varied terrain of mountain biking.

The 11-speed cassette features the proven Hyperglide technology and is available in 2 versions: with a ratio of 11-42 teeth the CS-M5100 features close gear steps for quick shifting while the 11-51 teeth cassette covers a wide range offering the right gear for every situation.
